Task 11. Writing.

A) Read the following part of an essay about family traditions. Answer the following questions:

· What does the person write about?

· Why does she cherish this tradition?

· Why is this tradition so valuable for her family members?

Almost all families have traditions often centering on holidays or special occasions.

In my family we have had a tradition passed down on both sides of the family. Our family tradition goes on almost daily, if not every day, it is family dinners. I find that family dinners are very important not just for my family but for everyone’s family.

Family dinners bring together all or most of the members together at one time, where we can talk about our day, school, friends, how we are feeling and what we are doing otherwise. In addition to having better communication, family dinners create joyful memories for every member of my family.

So, having this tradition is very important to me for all of these reasons.

B) Write a short paragraph about one of your family traditions listing the reasons why it is so treasured in your family.
