My little sisterI ve got a sister. Her name is Kate. She s three.She has got many toys four balls - red, green, blue and yellow three puppies - black, white andgrey two brown monkeys, a yellow giraffe, a white bear and two nice dolls.Do you think she likes to play with her toys? No,she doesn t. What she does like is she likes to play hide-and-seek with me. Do you know the way she does it. She hides under the table and says Helen,where am I? I say Are you on the chair? No, I m not Are you under the chair? No, try again.
Oh, Kate, I try and try again, but I can t seeyou! Then she runs up to me and says HereIam This is the way my little sister Kate plays hide-and-seek. Isn t shefunny?My birthdayIwas born on the 22nd of March. Birthday is a very remarkable day for me. It isspring and the weather is fine. In the morning my parents come to my room to wake mesinging Happy Birthday, dear Andy . They give me the presents.Ilike to get them very much. Most people hold their birthday party on their birthdays.
Usually, we hold my birthday party on Sunday next to the 22nd of March. Once ortwice we went for a picnic on that day, but usually we celebrate it at home. Weinvite my friends and relatives to the party. I get up early in the morning onthat day. My father and I go shopping to the district marketplace andsupermarkets. We buy everything we need for the party. My mother stays at hometo clean the flat and bake a pie and cakes.Then we lay the table together, puton evening suits and wait for the guests.
At about four o clock my relativesand friends come to congratulate me and I am glad to see them. They bring abunch of roses for my mother and books, sweets and records for me. I thank myfriends for coming and the presents. My aunts usually buy some clothes for meas a birthday present. We have an abundant dinner on this day. Mother bringsthe birthday cake and I blow the candles out. We dance and sing songs, makejokes and play games.When everybody is tired, we just lie on the floor andtell stories or just listen to the music in my room. I enjoy my birthday partyand my friends like this day too.My friend NickIhave a lot of friends.
But my best friend is Nick. We made friends many yearsago when he moved to the same block of flats where we live. Nick is fifteenyears old. Hi is a schoolboy. He is going to become a researcher. Nick is afine fellow. He is good-looking, tall and handsome.His hair is fair, his eyesare blue. He is always well dressed and neat. He is strong and very popularwith girls.
Nick knows a lot of interesting things. He sings well and likes totell funny stories. We always meet at the weekends. We discuss books, listen tothe music or visit our friends. Nick is always full of life and energy. He isalways ready to help people when they are in need. Nick has good manners. He is modest and sincere. Heis very attentive. I am happy tohave such a friend as Nick, and I think he is atrue one.
