Thanksgiving DayThere is one day ayear when all Americans stay home with their families and eat a big dinner.This is Thanksgiving Day. The pilgrims celebrated the first Thanksgiving Day inthe fall of 1621. The pilgrims sailed to America on board the Mayflower ship for religious freedom. They were among the firstEuropean settlers in America. There were people living in America before thepilgrims arrived. These people were the Native American Indians.The pilgrims first winter in the New World was verydifficult.
They had arrived too late to grow many crops. Without fresh foodhalf of the pilgrims died. The following spring the Indians taught the pilgrimshow to hunt, fish, plant and survive in America. The crops did well and in thefall of 1621 pilgrims had a great harvest. They were thankful and decided tocelebrate with a Thanksgiving feast. They prepared a dinner of turkey, corn,beans and pumpkins. They invited their Indian friends to share this feast.TheIndians brought food for the feast too they even brought popcorn! . Americansstill celebrate Thanksgiving Day in the fall. It is celebrated on the fourthThursday in November.

People will be taller and more clever. Some people think that men willbe two metres tall, and women will be as tall as men. They say men and womenwill wear the same clothes but in different colours. Pupils will not go toschool. They will have computers at home and the computers will help them tolearn everything. At weekends people will go to the moon and otherplanets.They will have a good time there.
They won t read many books. Theywill mostly watch television and get news from computer networks. And they willlearn many things from nature. All people will enjoy their life.
