Waiter: Good evening, sir. Are you alone?

W: Would you like to sit over there, sir? Near the window?

A: Yes, thank you. May I look through the menu?

W: Of course. Here it is.

W: Have you decided yet, sir? May I take your order?

A: As a starter I’d have a tomato juice. Oh, no, I’ll have an onion soup.

W: OK. How about the main course, sir?

A: I’m not sure… Perhaps you can help me?

W: Oh, if I were you, sir, I’d have a steak in wine sauce. I myself like it very much. Moreover, it’s the speciality of the day (ôèðì. áëþäî).

A: All right. I’ll have the steak.

W: What would you like with the steak, sir?

A: A salad and some mashed potatoes, please.

W: Would you like something to drink?

A: Yes. Some mineral water, please. And could I see the wine list?

W: Of course. Here it is, sir.

A: I’ll have some French red wine.

A: Waiter!

W: Yes, sir… DO you want the bill?

A: Yes. How much is it?

W: ₤7.25, sir.
