The essence of A.R. Lima's neuropsychological approach to "brain—mind" problem is set forward, i. e. theo­retical basis of Russian neuropsychology, notion of the brain as a substrate of mental processes, it's principles of working, idea of neuropsychological syndromes determined by structural-functional units, neuropsycholog­ical methods of activity research, etc. There are described the achievements of Russian neuropsychology in the solution of some cardinal psychological problems including problem of brain mechanisms of conscious mental activity.
