The Titanic was a British luxury ship. It was the biggest ship of its time. Everybody thought it was unsinkable. Its first voyage, in April 1912, was from England to New York city. More than 2000 passengers were travelling on the Titanic at this time. While the Titanic was crossing the Atlantic Ocean, the passengers were having a wonderful time. The Titanic was travelling quite fast in icy waters when it suddenly hit an iceberg and started to sink. While the ship was sinking, people were trying to get on lifeboats, but there not enough lifeboats for all the people. Some people survived, but more than 1.500 people died.
