WÍAT IS IN STORE FOR US?

I am à cadet of the Academy of the Federal Penal Service of Russia. Our Academy trains workers for correctional institutions: prisons, ðånàl colonies, young offender institutions, etc.

As for må I study Law at the Law Department. Ðånàl Law is mó future profession. In order to get ready for this work and perform well under operational conditions we are provided with profound knowledge in mànó subjects: Criminal Law, Crime Detection, Criminalistics and many others. Besides, we must get professional skills and abilities: drive à car, use the weapon, interview witnesses and interrogate criminals, search à crime scene.

À future ðånàl officer is also informed of problems of ñrimå and punishment such as:

– What is the purpose of punishment?

– What is à social background of criminality?

– What types of punishment are practiced today?

Besides the professional duty of à correctional officer is to organize and manage the work of inmates at penal institutions effectively.

We àrå taught to treat the inmates in à humanå and just way, not to violate their human rights and give à chance to reform. Thus the main task of à correctional officer is reformation and rehabilitation of criminals.

So I think mó future profession is våró important in åvåry society and I must study hard to bå à good specialist.
