The London Transport ticketing system is based on zones.There are six zones in London Underground The fares depend on the distance: the further you go, the higher the fare.
You can buy: Single.A ticket for one journey only. Valid any time of the day, on the date shown on the ticket. Return.A ticket for outward and return journeys between two stations. Valid any time of the day, on the date shown on the ticket. Travelcards.The most convenient way to travel around London is to buy a Travelcard. Travelcards allow travel on London Underground, Docklands Light Railway, most buses and rail services within the zones selected. You can buy them at Underground stations, bus garages, from nearly 2000 newsagents, London Transport Travel Information Centres, etc. One Day Travelcards - can be used after 0930 Monday to Friday, any time at weekends and public holidays. They are not valid on Airbus, N-prefixed Night Bus services, excursions and other special services. Seven Day Travelcards - can be used at any time throughout the day and can also be used on N-prefixed Night Bus services. However, they are not valid on Airbus, excursions and other special services. To buy Seven Day Travelcards both adults and children must have a photocard. Travelcards for 1 month or year are also available. Child Fares.Under 5s travel free. Those between 5 and 15 travel at child rates. 14 and 15 olds need a Child Rate Photocard.
