This book is the first in the Russian science special manual with respect to this problem. The systematic exposition of a history of the anthropological theories and the analysis of the basic present schools and trends are given. The socio-biological and cultural principles of inequality and power and forms of the social stratification and mobility are considered. The power structure and leadership evolution for different types of a society are analyzed. Much attention is given to a consideration of the state's phenomenon, reason for origin of the state, ways of state origin, types and forms of statehood. A role of political anthropology in the reason of the present processes of modernization and processes in the post-traditional structures is widely convered. In so doing, an additional attention is gives to a specificity of political processes in Russia and other countries of CIS.
